Leibniz Institute for the Analysis of Biodiversity Change (LIB)

Institute: https://leibniz-lib.de/en/
Biobank: https://leibniz-lib.de/en/biobank

The LIB, a merger of Museum Koenig in Bonn, Germany, and Museum der Natur Hamburg, researches biological diversity and analyses its change over time and space alongside the causes of this change. In doing so, LIB contributes to preserving nature for future generations. Research, collections, and knowledge transfer are closely interlinked at LIB.

The LIB Biobank is located in Bonn and stores animal tissue, cells, and DNA as well as environmental samples in liquid nitrogen. It is closely connected to the morphological collections of both museums, and works towards international biobank harmonization.
