The ZSL / Institute of Zoology (IoZ) is a world-renowned research centre working at the cutting edge of conservation science, organised around a number of strategically important research areas. IoZ has an established record of conservation impact, including the development of approaches and indicators to assess the health of biodiversity at a range of scales (global, regional, national) and threats to it; the identification of emerging risks to biodiversity from infectious and non-infectious diseases and designing mitigation strategies to reduce these risks; and the science that underpins some of the most successful endangered species recovery programmes in the world.
